Chris Thomas is a Distinguished Research Professor holding the Global Chair in Water & Planetary Health at the University of Lincoln UK, and a Visiting Professor in Wildlife Biology at the University of Namibia. A zoologist, his expertise is in spatial ecology and geographic modelling of complex ecological systems, particularly applied to human health and malaria in Africa, with 25 years of experience leading international, interdisciplinary research, including field campaigns (habitat mapping, biodiversity assessment, population biology), modelling and knowledge exchange programmes. He was one of the original team that established ZEP and leads FLOODMAL, a UK government-funded interdisciplinary research program on environmental drivers of malaria in Western Province.
